3. What personal data we process
3.1 Data you provide to us — contact form
When you complete the contact form on our website, we process the following data:
• Full name
• Company name
• Email address
• Telephone number
• The content of your message/question and any other information you voluntarily include in your message
We use this data solely to handle your question or request and to contact you.
3.2 Data collected automatically — website and usage data
When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain information about your visit through Google Analytics (and similar technologies), such as:
• IP address (where anonymised/masked, unless stated otherwise below)
• Device type, browser and operating system
• Pages visited, click behaviour, and the time and duration of the visit
• Referring website (the page from which you arrived at our website) and country/region (approximate location based on IP address)
We use this data to understand how our website is used, to improve the website, and to identify technical issues. See section 8 (“Cookies”) for more information.
We do not collect special categories of personal data through the website (such as data concerning health, race or political opinions), and the website is not directed at minors.
4. Why we process your data and on what legal basis
We process your personal data only where there is a legal basis for doing so. These legal bases include:
• Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): to answer questions submitted through the contact form before an agreement has been concluded, and to analyse and improve our website (web statistics). In doing so, we have balanced our interests against your right to privacy.
• Performance of (or steps prior to entering into) a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR): when your contact request leads to a quotation, collaboration or agreement with Global Mounts Group.
• Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR): for placing non-essential cookies (such as Google Analytics cookies), which we place only after you have given consent through our cookie banner.
• Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR): for example, when we are required to retain data under statutory tax record-keeping obligations.
5. How long we retain your data
We do not retain your personal data longer than necessary for the purposes for which it was collected:
• Contact form data: 2 years
• Analytics/website data: in accordance with the retention period configured in Google Analytics, 26 months
• Data that we are required to retain pursuant to a legal obligation (for example, tax record-keeping requirements): for the legally prescribed period (generally 7 years)
6. With whom we share your data
We never sell your personal data to third parties. We share your data with third parties only insofar as necessary for the purposes described below or to comply with a legal obligation. We enter into data processing agreements that meet GDPR requirements with parties that process personal data on our behalf (processors). These include:
• Google Ireland Limited (Google Analytics) — for website statistics
• Our hosting provider Sturdydigital.nl— for hosting the website
• Our email/office software provider info@globalmountsgroup.com — for processing incoming contact requests
• Any IT service providers that support us in managing the website
In addition, we may provide personal data to government authorities (such as the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration) if we are legally required to do so.
7. Transfers of data outside the EEA
Our website and customers/business relationships are internationally oriented, and some of our service providers — including Google — may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), for example in the United States. Where this occurs, we ensure that such transfers comply with the GDPR, for example because:
• the European Commission has determined that the country concerned provides an adequate level of protection (an “adequacy decision”), as is currently the case for participants in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; or
• we have entered into the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission with the relevant party, where appropriate supplemented by suitable technical and organisational measures.
Please note: the status of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework is currently subject to legal challenge due to ongoing proceedings before the Court of Justice of the European Union.
